POSITION: Senior Lecturer (Renewable), Mathematics
The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science invites applications for an Academic Staff position in Mathematics beginning Fall 2013. The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science consists of seven full-time faculty and more than 100 undergraduate students seeking majors in Mathematics, Discrete Applied Mathematics, Mathematics Education, and Computer Science along with minors in those disciplines and Information Technology. DUTIES:
- Teaching undergraduate and developmental courses in Mathematics, and possibly in Computer Science, with focus on service courses within the general education curriculum. For the most recent courses, see http://www.uwsuper.edu
- Advising undergraduates
- Participating in departmental activities
- Serving on departmental and university-wide committees
Master's Degree in Mathematics or a related field.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
Teaching and/or field experience in Mathematics or Computer Science is highly desirable. Preference may be given to candidates whose mathematical training is supplemented by experience with statistics or computer science and to candidates with experience in university-level curriculum development. Willingness and interest in utilizing technology in the classroom and on-line preferred.
